Lyra has been grinding.
She embarked on a tour of the country that saw her play a whopping 22 shows across the island. She released her debut ablum.
And just nabbed her first number one.
She is absolutely buzzing when we catch up at the Platinum VIP Style Awards this year.
“Number one! We fought Beyoncé, we fought Beyoncé right off!” she exclaims with the biggest smile ever.
“I can finally go back to listening to her album and not feel guilty!”
Securing an Irish number one with her first album is no small feat. And she knows that this is a monumental moment.
“It means everything to me. It means the world to have a number one album, especially because it’s my debut album. I worked hard and so long on this record.
“It means so much that the Irish people really, really got behind me and really, really supported me to get me there. It doesn’t mean that I’m a lone solider anymore. It means everything.”
But she won’t be spending too much time celebrating as she’s back out on the road.
“I’m just starting my UK tour, so I’m flying back to England. It’s going to be very, very full one. But I can’t wait!”
Of course, she’s fresh off her Irish tour which she describes as “amazing”.
“I wasn’t expecting it to be so packed every night. Most of the shows sold out. We ended up adding more shows and it became a 22-date tour! That was massive. I was so delighted everyone came out and enjoyed themselves.”
